How Navidou Works

Planning starts with the details that shape what is realistic for a family. Navidou asks for:

• Destination, and if you have not decided yet, an option to explore destination ideas.
• Departure location, used to understand the journey to your destination.
• Number of adults travelling.
• Children's ages, grouped into babies/toddlers and older children, because the practical needs of a baby and a six-year-old are very different.
• Travel month or dates, which affects weather, season and what to pack.
• Trip duration, the number of days for the trip.
• Trip type, such as city break, beach, road trip or similar.

Navidou does not collect general lifestyle preferences or a direct walking-tolerance score at this step. The focus is on the concrete details that affect planning for a family.

Next, families select one or more family priorities that reflect what matters most on this trip. The current options are:

• Child rhythm, prioritising the child's routine, naps and pacing.
• Stroller friendly, favouring places and logistics that work with a stroller.
• Minimize travel, reducing long transfers and unnecessary journeys.
• Budget control, keeping cost in focus throughout the plan.

Families can choose multiple priorities, and these choices influence how the plan is shaped later, including activity suggestions and pacing.

For the paid full plan, Navidou asks a short set of follow-up questions that help make the itinerary more practical. For families travelling with young children, this can include nap routine and diaper stage, so the plan can fit around a baby or toddler's day. It also asks about accommodation type, main transport, and a broad travel-time preference or range.

These questions are not all mandatory. Families can skip them, and Navidou may apply sensible defaults where information is missing, so the plan can still be produced while remaining as personalised as the provided details allow.

Once the trip and family details are collected, Navidou applies planning logic that looks for practical conflicts. The checks implemented today include examples such as:

• Short multi-stop or road trips with a baby or toddler, where the pace or number of stops may be hard to reconcile with a young child's routine.
• Active trip types combined with a baby or toddler and the Child rhythm priority, where an energetic plan may conflict with keeping the child's routine intact.
• Stroller-friendly priority for selected hilly or cobblestone destinations, where stroller access may be more difficult.

These checks can produce a warning, a request for clarification, or a suggested adjustment. Navidou does not perform universal destination validation and does not provide safety, legal or health advice.
